Two siblings, identified as Mohammad and Abdullah al-Mousa from al-Sfira city in eastern rural Aleppo governorate, were shot dead on Mrach 14, 2024, by Syrian National Army (SNA) personnel near Shbeiran Camp in Tarhin area in eastern rural Aleppo governorate. A shootout ensued between an armed group of al-Sfira locals and the SNA, which led to the SNA targeting the two camps of Shbeiran and Tarhin with machine guns and projectiles, where displaced families from al-Sfira live. Eight civilians, including women and children, were injured in an initial estimate. The area is under the control of the SNA.

The Syrian Network for Human Rights (SNHR) notes that, through this killing, the SNA has again violated international human rights law. The perpetrators must be held accountable.
