Two boys, identified as 15-year-old Bakr Na’san Na’san and 13-year-old Mohammad Ali Na’san, were abducted for military conscription on February 11, 2024, by the Syrian Democratic Forces’ (SDF) alShabiba al-Thawriya, (Revolutionary Youth) faction, also known as the ‘Joanne Schurchkar’, in their home village of Dafi, administrative affiliated with Ein al-Arab city, in eastern rural Aleppo governorate. They were then taken to an SDF recruitment camp.
The Syrian Network for Human Rights (SNHR) notes that the two children’s families have not been notified of what has happened to them, and they are forbidden to contact or receive any visits from them. We are concerned that they will be forced to participate in direct and indirect military action.
It should be noted that approximately 309 children are currently conscripted in SDF military training camps.
