Three children siblings suffocated to death on January 15, 2024, inside their tent in Mtawwa 1 Camp within Atama Camps in northern rural Idlib governorate. The children, who are internally displaced persons (IDPs) originally from al-Latamena city in northern rural Hama governorate, suffocated after using hazardous heating materials. The area is under the control of armed opposition factions and Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS).

The Syrian Network for Human Rights (SNHR) calls on international relief organizations to meet the urgent basic needs of IDPs’ camps, and to supply the camps’ administration with additional tents for emergencies.
