A man, identified as Ayman Ahmad al-Ajroush, was shot on October 15, 2023, by Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) personnel in a raid on his family’s house in his home village of al-Azba in western Deir Ez-Zour governorate, with the attackers proceeding to arrest him after shooting him.. The SDF later returned his body to his family. The area is under the SDF’s control.
The Syrian Network for Human Rights (SNHR) notes that through this act of killing, the SDF has again violated international human rights law. The perpetrators must be held accountable.
