A man, identified as Mohammad Ali Hussein al-Mekhlef, was killed on October 3, 2023, by a stray bullet amid ongoing clashes between Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and local Arab tribes in his hometown of al-Shahil in eastern Deir Ez-Zour governorate. The area is under the control of the SDF.
The Syrian Network for Human Rights (SNHR) has not been able to identify the party responsible for Abdul Razzaq’s death as of this writing. The warring forces bear responsibility for identifying his killers. It should be noted that the clashes are still continuing as of this writing, with more deaths and injuries occurring.
SNHR condemns all killings and violations, no matter which party is responsible. We call for bringing an immediate and permanent end to the fighting and compensating the victims.
