A child, identified as Wael Ibrahim al-Ne’ma, was shot dead on September 28, 2023, by Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) personnel near his family’s home on the bank of the Euphrates River in his home city of al-Qouriya in eastern rural Deir Ez-Zour governorate. The area is under the control of Syrian regime forces.
The Syrian Network for Human Rights (SNHR) notes that through this act of killing the SDF has again violated international human rights law. The perpetrators must be held accountable.
