A man, identified as Abdul Sattar Abdul Karim al-Mohammad al-Eisa from Dan village in eastern rural Aleppo governorate, was killed on September 7, 2023, in an artillery attack by Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) who fired multiple shells at the Hassou Camp, a group of tents housing Bedouin internally displaced persons (IDPs) located on the eastern outskirts of Bershaya village in eastern rural Aleppo governorate. Abdul Sattar’s son was also injured in the bombardment. The area is under the control of the Syrian National Army (SNA).

This shelling comes amid ongoing clashes between the SDF and Arab tribes, which broke out on August 29, 2023.

SNHR condemns all killings and violations no matter which party is responsible. We call for bringing an immediate end to the fighting to ensure the safety of civilians in the area, and to prevent any further damage to civilian objects.
