On January 18, 2025, an armed opposition faction/Syrian National Army (SNA) artillery detachment fired multiple shells at al-Hesha Water Station in al-Hesha village in northern rural Raqqa governorate. The water station was damaged and rendered out of commission. The area targeted is under the control of Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF).

The Syrian Network for Human Rights (SNHR) notes that al-Hesha Water Station feeds water to 12 villages in northern rural Raqqa governorate.
We condemn this attack and hold all armed opposition factions/SNA responsible for what happened. We call on them to launch an investigation into this incident and hold those responsible to account.
