A 40-year-old man identified as Khaled Ahmad al-Krad, from Tareeq al-Sadd neighborhood in Daraa governorate, died on May 10, 2023, as a result of injuries that he sustained the previous day, May 9, 2023, when he was shot in the local neighborhood by gunmen we have not yet been able to identify.

The Syrian Network for Human Rights (SNHR) notes that Khaled was a former member of an armed opposition faction, before which he worked as a motorcycle repairman.

The area is under the control of Syrian regime forces. The Syrian Network for Human Rights (SNHR) is still trying to locate eyewitnesses to obtain more information about the incident. We call on the controlling forces to uphold their responsibilities for protecting civilians in their areas, to investigate this incident, and to make the findings of the investigation known to the public. Syria will never have true stability without a genuine political transition process towards democracy within a fixed timetable.
