On April 30, 2023, the body of a 60-year-old man named Mousa Shehada al-Zou’bi, from al-Ghariya al-Sharqiya town in eastern suburbs of Daraa, was found by local residents in agricultural land between al-N’eima town and Daraa city, bearing knife wounds in the neck area. The body was found one day after Mousa went missing.

The city is under the control of Syrian regime forces. The Syrian Network for Human Rights (SNHR) has not yet been able to identify the party responsible for Mousa’s killing. The controlling forces bear responsibility for identifying his killers.
