Zahra Ali al-Hassan, a woman born in 1987, from Hazwan village to the northwest of al-Bab city in the eastern suburbs of Aleppo governorate, was shot dead on January 16, 2023, by a Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) sniper in her home village.
The Syrian Network for Human Rights notes that the village where the killing took place is close to the dividing lines between the Syrian National Army’s (SNA) territories and those controlled by the SDF.
SNHR notes that, through this act of killing, the SDF has once again violated international human rights law, and that the perpetrator must be held accountable.
