Ayham Kamal S’oud Ghanem, a 16-year-old boy from Maf’ala town in the eastern suburbs of Suwayda governorate, was abducted on January 14, 2023, by gunmen who we have not yet been able to identify on the Damascus-Suwayda international highway near a Syrian regime checkpoint called ‘al-Msamiyya’ in northern Suwayda governorate. He was taken to an undisclosed location.

The area is under the control of Syrian regime forces. As of this writing, the Syrian Network for Human Rights has been unable to identify who abducted him. We condemn all abductions and arbitrary arrests.
