On January 5, 2023, a fire broke out in the Sejjo IDPs Camp, located to the west of Sejjo town (al-Salama) which is north of Azaz city in the northern suburbs of Aleppo governorate. The fire, which was caused by an electrical malfunction, destroyed three tents for IDPs from Tal Ref’at city, while the heavy smoke from the blaze led to one civilian suffering from the effects of suffocation. The Syrian Network for Human Rights calls on international relief organizations to act urgently to meet the camp’s basic needs.

We also urge these organizations to supply the camps’ administration with additional tents for emergency cases.
