Basim Ahmad Abazid, a 5-year-old boy from the Daraa al-Balad area of Daraa city, died on November 5, 2022, from wounds sustained on November 3 in an explosion of munitions left by previous bombardment, which he and other children were playing with. We have been unable to identify the source of the remnants.

The area is under the control of Syrian regime forces. The Syrian Network for Human Rights stresses that the remnants of these weapons continue to pose a serious threat to civilians’ lives. We

have released numerous reports on the issue of cluster munitions and weapon remnants, in which we

called for providing the necessary equipment to help local residents with removing explosive remnants.
