Hanifa Musa Olu, an elderly woman aged 77 from Qerzaihel village, which belongs to Afrin, north of Aleppo governorate, was killed on October 12, 2022, as a result of wounds by bullets in the clashes between the “Al-Hamza and Sultan Suleiman Shah” factions of the Syrian National Army forces and the Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham against the Third Legion faction, which is also affiliated with the Syrian National Army forces in the village Qerzaihel.
SNHR has not been able to determine which party caused the woman’s death so far. SNRH condemns the ongoing clashes between factions in the Syrian National Army and Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham against other factions of the Syrian National Army forces since October 12, 2022 until the moment of publishing this news, and calls for an immediate halt to the clashes to ensure the protection of civilians in those areas, and to prevent damage to civilians and civilian objects.
