Amr Hasan Al-Amouri, from Morek, north of Hama governorate, was killed and two other civilians were injured on October 13, 2022, as a result of a landmine explosion whose source we could not determine while he was on farmland in Kafr Zita, in the northern suburbs of Hama governorate, which is held by Syrian regime forces.

SNHR is still trying to reach witnesses from that incident to obtain more details.

SNHR calls on the controlling forces to bear the responsibility of protecting civilians in their areas, and to disclose the locations of mines and remove them.

We have recorded hundreds of deaths and injuries caused by mine explosions, which is a major threat to people, especially to children, over the coming years in those areas.
