Unidentified gunmen on motorbikes opened fire on a group of civilians on a hunting trip between the villages of Abo Hawadid and Rasm al Ahmar in al Sa’en region in the eastern Hama suburbs, on October 6, 2022, killing two of the civilians (named as Rawaf al Oudan and Daham al Oudan) and wounding another. The area is controlled by Syrian regime forces.

SNHR is still trying to contact witnesses for more details on the incident.

SNHR condemns all killings of civilians and calls on the controlling forces to assume their responsibility for protecting the civilian population in areas under their control and to launch an investigation into this incident and reveal its conclusions to the public.

There will be no stability in Syria without a genuine political transition process moving towards democracy, implemented according to a set timetable.
