The body of a thirty-three-year-old woman, Wafaa, whom we are yet unable to identify her surname, was found by residents in Sector Four of al Hol Camp for IDPs near al Hol town in the eastern suburbs of Hasaka governorate on July 13, 2022, bearing gunshot wounds.

SNHR notes that the body of Bassam al Sawadi, Mrs. Wafaa’s husband, was also found in the camp on July 9, 2022.

The camp is controlled by the Syrian Democratic Forces. SNHR has so far been unable to identify the party responsible for their deaths. Although the controlling forces in the area bear responsibility for revealing the party responsible for the killing, these forces haven’t launched any investigation, which indicates they may be involved in this murder and similar incidents.
