The body of a woman, Fatima al Shwaiti, was found in a sewer pipe in Sector Five of al Hol Camp for IDPs near al Hol town in the eastern suburbs of Hasaka governorate on June 12, 2022, bearing gunshot wounds. 

The camp is controlled by the Syrian Democratic Forces. SNHR has so far been unable to identify the party responsible for her death. Although the controlling forces in the area bear responsibility for revealing the party responsible for the killing, these forces haven’t launched any investigation, which indicates they may be involved in this murder and similar incidents.
