At least nine civilians, including five women, were killed and 25 others injured by the explosion of a landmine planted by unknown parties that blew up near a truck transporting agricultural workers near Deir al Adas village in the northern suburbs of Daraa governorate on June 11, 2022.

The area is under the control of Syrian regime forces.

SNHR is still trying to reach witnesses and survivors of that incident to get more details.

We demand that the controlling regime forces bear responsibility for protecting civilians in the areas under their control, and that they determine the locations of mines planted there and remove them.

We have documented hundreds of deaths and injuries as a result of mine explosions; these munitions will continue to constitute a severe threat to the population of these areas in years to come, especially to children.
