Two sibling children, Muhammad and Ibrahim Shawqi Yousef, born in 2012 and 2013, from Jandeiras county in the northern suburbs of Aleppo governorate, were abducted by Syrian Democratic Forces personnel on June 4, 2022, on their way back from a sewing workshop where they work in al Sheikh Maqsood neighborhood in Aleppo city for conscription, and taken to a recruitment center.

SNHR notes that the children’s parents have not been informed of their whereabouts, and they haven’t been allowed to contact their family, who are also forbidden from visiting them. We fear they may be forced to participate directly or indirectly in military operations, and confirm that around 156 children are still conscripted in Syrian Democratic Forces recruitment camps.
