Two civilians, Hasan Ahmad al Hussein from Khan al Subul village in the southern suburbs of Idlib governorate and Muhammad Ahmad Hasan al Homad from al Hader town in the southern suburbs of Aleppo governorate, were shot and killed on May 20, 2022 by unidentified gunmen on a motorbike in al Fou’a town in the northeastern suburbs of Idlib governorate, which is under the joint control of the Hay’at Tahrir al Sham and factions of the armed opposition.
SNHR is still trying to reach eyewitnesses for more details of the incident.

SNHR condemns all killings of civilians and calls on controlling forces to assume their responsibility for protecting the civilian population in areas under their control and to launch an investigation into this incident and reveal its conclusions to the public.

There will be no stability in Syria without a genuine political process moving towards democracy, implemented according to a set timetable.
