Twenty-five-year-old Muhammad Ahmad al Ruwaili from Daraa al Balad in Daraa city was killed on March 27, 2022. Another man was wounded due to the explosion of munitions from a previous unknown-source bombing.
The exploded munitions were among the hardware being loaded in a truck to be moved and sold in Daraa al Balad in Daraa. The area is under the control of the Syrian regime forces.
SNHR notes that remnants of explosive weapons are still a serious threat to civilians. We’ve issued many reports on cluster munitions and other weapons’ remnants and called for the supply of the equipment required to help the locals remove the explosive remnants.
SNHR also recorded the Syrian regime’s use of anti-personnel mines, which will continue to constitute a real and lethal threat to people, particularly children, for several years to come.
We have documented hundreds of injuries resulting from cluster munitions remnants, and the international community must intervene to protect civilians in Syria from the continuous killings.
