Members of the Syrian Democratic Forces opened fire on a vehicle transporting civilians in Um Tammakh village, near Manbej city in the east of Aleppo governorate, killing one civilian whose name we haven’t yet confirmed, who had been displaced from Damascus governorate, and injuring others, on January 26, 2022.
SNHR notes that Um Tammakh village is under the Syrian Democratic Forces’ control, and that the shooting took place when the civilians attempted to leave the area under SDF control on their way to an area under Syrian National Army control.
SNHR stresses that Syrian Democratic Forces have again violated international human rights law through this killing, and the perpetrators must be held accountable.
