A man from Izaz city in the northern suburbs of Aleppo governorate, named as Helal Muhammad Jamal al Na’es, died on January 14, 2022, due to wounds inflicted on January 13, when an IED of an unidentified source exploded under a car affiliated with the Military Police in the city, which is controlled by Syrian National Army.
The blast also caused the death of a 29-year-old member of Military Police, named as Muhammad Ahmad al Hussein.
SNHR is still trying to contact witnesses and survivors to obtain more details of the incident.
We condemn all attacks of this nature which target and kill civilians, and call on the governing forces in every area to bear responsibility for protecting civilians in the areas under their control, and to conduct investigations into all such incidents and reveal their findings to the public. Stability will not be achieved in Syria without achieving a political transition towards democracy implemented according to a strict timetable.
