A 15-year-old male child, named as Khattab Abied Hasan, from al Helaliyah neighborhood in al Qameshli city in the northeastern suburbs of Hasaka governorate, was kidnapped for conscription on November 24, 2021, by Syrian Democratic Forces personnel in the village and taken to a conscription camp.
SNHR notes that no member of the boy’s family was informed of his arrest and that he has been prevented from contacting his family, who are not allowed to visit him. SNHR fears that he will be forced to engage directly and indirectly in military operations, and confirms that around 136 children are still detained for forced conscription in the SDF’s camps.
