A 35-year-old man, named as Abdul Aziz al Naser, from Humret Ghannam village in the east of Raqqa governorate, an employee of the village’s municipality which is affiliated with Syrian Democratic Forces, was shot dead on September 19, 2021, by unidentified gunmen in the village which is controlled by the SDF.
SNHR condemns all killings of this nature which target civilians and calls on the governing forces in each area to bear responsibility for protecting civilians in the areas under their control, and to conduct investigations into all such incidents and reveal their findings to the public. Stability will not be achieved in Syria without achieving a political transition towards democracy implemented according to a strict timetable.
