A female child, born in 2006, named as Dana Emad Suleiman, from al Qameshli city in the northeastern suburbs of Hasaka governorate, was abducted for conscription on August 26, 2021, by Syrian Democratic Forces personnel in the city and taken to one of the group’s conscription camps.
SNHR notes that no member of the girl’s family was informed of her arrest and that she was prevented from contacting her family, who are not allowed to visit her. SNHR fears that she will be forced to engage directly and indirectly in military operations, and confirms that around 113 children are still detained for forced conscription in the SDF’s camps.
