The bodies of a woman and her husband, displaced from the northern suburbs of Aleppo governorate, were discovered in their tent in Section Four of al Hawl IDP Camp near al Hawl town in the eastern suburbs of Hasaka governorate on August 17, 2021, bearing signs of gunshot wounds.
Although the SNHR is unable to identify the party responsible for the civilians’ killing, the area is controlled by Syrian Democratic Forces. Despite the controlling forces bearing responsibility for revealing the perpetrator’s identity, they have not launched any investigation which increases the suspicion of their involvement in the killing.
