Three civilians, including a child and a woman, were killed on August 18, 2021, when Syrian Democratic Forces used a missile launcher to shell al Mazout Street in west Afrin city in the northern suburbs of Aleppo governorate, resulting in a fire in the targeted area where there is a fuel station for selling diesel.
Through this action, the SDF have, without doubt, committed another violation of Security Council resolutions 2139 and 2254 which prohibit any further indiscriminate attacks, as well as violating the rules of international humanitarian law which stress the distinction between civilians and combatants spreading terror among civilians.
