This photo, shared on August 3, 2021, shows a number of the families displaced to safer areas from the Daraa al Balad area, the Tareeq al Sadd neighborhood, and the camps in Daraa city due to the military escalation by Syrian regime forces against those areas since July 27, 2021, which resulted in casualties, in addition to damaging residential buildings where a number of the displaced families had been living before they were forced to flee for fear of the ongoing escalation.
The Syrian Network for Human Rights condemns the bombing of civilian-populated areas by the Syrian regime which fails to distinguish between populated civilian areas and military targets, resulting in the destruction of homes, as well as threatening and forcibly displacing the residents of those areas.
The international community must provide immediate protection to the forcibly displaced persons, halt the causes of further displacement, and take effective steps to ensure the return of the displaced to their homes, by accelerating a political transition according to a strict timetable which must not exceed six months.
