he body of a man from Marea city in the eastern suburbs of Aleppo governorate, named as Mahmoud Ali Abdul Jawad Ne’meh, was discovered on May 18, 2021, on farmland in the outskirts of Anab village, which is administratively a part of Afrin city in the northern suburbs of the governorate, bearing signs of gunshot wounds, two days after he went missing in Marea city.
Although the SNHR is unable to identify the party responsible for the civilian’s killing, the area is under the Syrian National Army’s control. Despite the controlling forces bearing responsibility for revealing the perpetrator’s identity, they have not launched any investigation, which increases the suspicion of their involvement in the killing.
