A displaced man from Harasta city in the east of Damascus suburbs, named as Mustafa Afouf, died on December 17, 2020, due to wounds sustained earlier in crossfire during clashes between two factions of the Syrian National Army (the Nour al Din al Zenki movement and Ahrar al Sham movement) in Jandaris town in the northern suburbs of Aleppo governorate on December 13. SNHR is unable to identify the party responsible for the man’s killing as of this writing while the controlling forces bear responsibility for revealing the perpetrators’ identity and holding them accountable. We note that the clashes also resulted in the killing of another displaced civilian from Harasta city and the injury of seven others at the time, all of whom, like Mustafa Afouf, were passers-by uninvolved in the fighting.
