A man named as Maher Hasan al Ghathyan and his son Ali died on November 15, 2020, due to wounds sustained on November 14, 2020, when an explosion of an undetermined type and origin took place in Kwiya village in Hawd al Yarmouk area in the western suburbs of Daraa governorate. SNHR is still trying to contact witnesses and survivors to obtain details of the incident.
SNHR condemns all explosions which target civilians and calls on the governing forces in each area to bear responsibility for protecting civilians in the areas under their control, and to conduct investigations and reveal their findings to the public. Stability will not be achieved in Syria without achieving a political transition towards democracy and the rule of law, implemented according to a strict timetable.
