The body of a 17-year-old boy, named as Muhammad Kateb al Freih, from Ghranij city which is administratively a part of al Sh’aitat area in the eastern suburbs of Deir Ez-Zour governorate, was discovered by local residents in the city on November 13, 2020, bearing signs of gunshot wounds. Although the SNHR is unable to identify the party responsible for the killing, the area is controlled by the Syrian Democratic Forces. Despite the controlling forces bearing responsibility for revealing the perpetrator’s identity, SDF have not launched any investigation, which increases the suspicion of their involvement in the killing.
