Hasan Ibrahim Abdul Aziz, from Qebran al Jabal village in the western suburbs of Aleppo governorate, and Abdul Rahman Waqqas, from Kouza village which is administratively a part of Afrin city in the northern suburbs of the same governorate, died on September 21, 2020,due to wounds sustained on September 14, 2020, when a car bomb of so far unknown origin exploded on the main street near Dawwar Kawa area in the middle of Afrin city, resulting in a massacre. SNHR is still trying to contact witnesses to obtain more details of the incident.
SNHR condemns all explosions which target civilians through indiscriminate killing and calls on the governing forces in each area to bear responsibility for protecting civilians in the areas under their control and to conduct investigations and reveal their findings to the public. Stability will not be achieved in Syria without achieving a political transition toward democracy implemented according to a strict timetable.
