A child named as Mahdi Hassoun was killed and five other civilians were injured due to an explosion of an undetermined type and origin took place in a home in al Janoubi neighborhood in Jisr al Shoghour city in the western suburbs of Idlib governorate on August 7, following a shooting of unknown origin in the same site of the incident. SNHR is still trying to contact witnesses to obtain details of the incident.
SNHR condemns all explosions which target civilians and calls on the governing forces in each area to bear responsibility for protecting civilians in the areas under their control, and to conduct investigations and reveal their findings to the public. Stability will not be achieved in Syria without achieving a political transition towards democracy and the rule of law, implemented according to a strict timetable.
