Muhammad Bassam al Basha is displaced man from Jobar neighborhood in east of Damascus city to the north Syria. On July 11, 2020, locals discovered his body near Jendeires area which is administratively a part of Afrin city in the northwestern suburbs of Aleppo governorate, bearing signs of burning apparently sustained after his death. The area is under the control of the Syrian National Army while SNHR has so far been unable to identify the party responsible for Muhammad’s death. Although the controlling forces in the area bear responsibility for revealing the perpetrator’s identity, the dominating party has not launched any investigation which increases the suspicion of their involvement in the killing.
