Syrian Democratic forces carried out raids on homes in al Hsain village which is administratively a part of Soor town in the northern suburbs of Deir Ez-Zour governorate on July 5, 2020. SNHR documented that three civilians were arrested, with all three being taken to an undisclosed location.

SNHR notes that no members of their families were informed of their arrest, with their phones being confiscated, preventing them from contacting their families. SNHR fears that they will be subjected to torture and ultimately classified as forcibly ‘disappeared’, like approximately 85 percent of those detained by the regime.

SNHR notes that about 3,090 Syrian citizens are still detained or forcibly disappeared in the SDF detention centers, constituting a grave threat to their wellbeing given the spread of the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic.
