A 15-year- old child, Samir Abdul Rahman Zinki from Ma’mal Oshaghi village, which is administratively a part of Afrin city in the northern suburbs of Aleppo governorate, was arrested for conscription by Syrian Democratic Forces personnel near al Isteqama Mosque in al Ashrafiya neighborhood in Aleppo city on May 25, 2020, and taken to a military training camp in al Sheikh Maqsoud neighborhood in Aleppo city.

SNHR notes that no member of the boy’s family was informed of his arrest and he was prevented from contacting his family, who are not allowed to visit him. SNHR fears that he will be forced to engage directly and indirectly in military operations, and confirms that around 86 children are still detained for forced conscription in SDF’s camps.
