A man from al Qusour neighborhood in Daraa city, named as Khaled Musa Attallah al Msalmeh, was shot dead on January 12, 2022 by unidentified gunmen while he was working on agricultural land beside the road linking Daraa city and Tafas city in the western suburbs of Daraa governorate which is controlled by Syrian regime forces. SNHR is still trying to contact witnesses to obtain more details of the incident.
We condemn all attacks of this nature which target and kill civilians, and call on the governing forces in every area to bear responsibility for protecting civilians in the areas under their control, and to conduct investigations into all such incidents and reveal their findings to the public. Stability will not be achieved in Syria without achieving a political transition towards democracy implemented according to a strict timetable.
