The body of a 36-year-old woman, named as Latifah Suleiman, was discovered by local families in Section Five of al Hawl IDP Camp near al Hawl town in the eastern suburbs of Hasaka governorate on December 14, 2021, bearing stab wounds inflicted with a sharp instrument.
Although the SNHR is unable to identify the party responsible for the woman’s killing, the area is controlled by Syrian Democratic Forces. Despite the controlling forces bearing responsibility for revealing the perpetrator’s identity, they have not launched any investigation which increases the suspicion of their involvement in the killing.
