A 15-year-old male child, identified as Muhammad Faeq Hannan, from al Sheikh Maqsoud neighborhood in Aleppo city, was abducted in the neighbourhood on November 28, 2021, by Syrian Democratic Forces, and taken to an a SDF conscription camp.
SNHR notes that no member of the child’s family was informed of his arrest and that he has been prevented from contacting his family, who are not allowed to visit him. SNHR fears that he will be forced to engage directly and indirectly in military operations, and confirms that around 136 children are still detained for forced conscription in the SDF’s camps.
