A man from al Kubar village in western Deir Ez-Zour governorate, named as Hamid Asaad al Badr, was shot dead on October 23, 2021, by unidentified gunmen in Jazaret al Bouhmaid village which is administratively a part of al Kesra town in the western suburbs of the governorate which is controlled by Syrian Democratic Forces. SNHR is still trying to contact witnesses to obtain more details of the incident.
SNHR condemns all killings of this nature which target civilians and calls on the governing forces in each area to bear responsibility for protecting civilians in the areas under their control, and to conduct investigations into all such incidents and reveal their findings to the public. Stability will not be achieved in Syria without achieving a political transition towards democracy implemented according to a strict timetable.
