A college student at Idlib University’s Faculty of Dentistry, named as Hasan Abdul Razzaq Jilou, from Masaken Hanano neighborhood in Aleppo city, was arrested on September 16, 2021, by Hay’at Tahrir al Sham personnel in front of the cultural center in Idlib city over criticizing Hay’at Tahrir al Sham and its affiliated ‘Salvation Government’ on his Facebook account, and taken to an undisclosed location.
SNHR notes that no members of the detainee’s family were informed of his arrest, with his phone being confiscated, preventing him from contacting his family. SNHR fears that he will be subjected to torture and ultimately classified as forcibly ‘disappeared’ like approximately 85 percent of the individuals detained in Syria.
SNHR can confirm that at least 2,287 Syrian citizens are still detained or forcibly disappeared in HTS detention centers.
