Syrian Democratic Forces fired artillery shells at Afrin city in the northern suburbs of Aleppo governorate on August 30, 2021, with one shell landing near al Itihad al Arabi School in the city, partially damaging the school’s perimeter fence.
SNHR can confirm that the school is in a residential area and free of any military presence and equipment.
We condemn the attack on the school, and call on the controlling forces to bear responsibility for it, conduct investigations into all such incidents and hold the perpetrators accountable.
