A man, named as Abdul Karim Jamal al Masri, was killed while others were injured on August 24, 2021, in a shooting by Syrian regime forces personnel who fired at a gathering of dozens of civilians near the regime’s al Saraya barrier which divides Daraa al Balad area from Daraa city center.
SNHR notes that an agreement sponsored by Russia was agreed upon between the negotiating committees in Daraa city and the regime security committee on August 24, 2021, which allows the reopening of al Saraya barrier.
We note that Syrian regime forces have committed another violation of international humanitarian law through this indiscriminate killing, for which the perpetrator must be held accountable.
