At least four civilians from the same family, including three children, were killed while four others were injured when Syrian National Army artillery forces fired mortar shells at al Safaweya village which is administratively a part of Ein Eisa district in the northern suburbs of Raqqa governorate on August 3, 2021.
Through this action, the Syrian National Army has, without doubt, committed another violation of Security Council resolutions 2139 and 2254 which prohibit any further indiscriminate attacks, as well as violating the rules of international humanitarian law which stress the distinction between civilians and combatants. Attacks of this nature spread terror and panic among civilians.
