The body of an 18-year-old man, named as Ali Thiab al Umayyan, from Tal Shehab town in the west of Daraa governorate, was discovered by local families in al Mzayreeb town in the western suburbs of Daraa governorate on July 26, 2021, bearing signs of gunshot wounds.
Although the SNHR is unable to identify the party responsible for the civilian’s killing, the area is controlled by Syrian regime forces. Despite the controlling forces bearing responsibility for revealing the perpetrator’s identity, they have not launched any investigation which increases the suspicion of their involvement in the killing.
