The bodies of two Iraqi refugees, one of them a woman, were discovered by other residents of Section One of al Hawl IDPs Camp near al Hawl town in the eastern suburbs of Hasaka governorate, on July 22, 2021, bearing signs of gunshots.
Although the SNHR is unable to identify the party responsible for killing the two civilians, the area is controlled by Syrian Democratic Forces. Despite the controlling forces bearing responsibility for revealing the perpetrator’s identity, they have not launched any investigation which increases the suspicion of their involvement in the killing.
